  Thanks for that. It really seems as though the org equates progress with shiny new statement buildings. Increase is no longer anything to brag about in fact its positively toe-curling to see someone give a baptism talk to himself the absence of converts.

  Young people no longer want the drudgery of countless hours of door knocking trying to persuade people who are at best uninterested but often hostile as they become better informed.

  So the clear-skinned gullible young are sucked into being part of this property building empire. They gain camaraderie and a misplaced sense of purpose whilst they add to the stock of award winning real estate built to manage a stagnant field.

  That seems to be the only measure of progress.

  the Watchtower guide to sex.

  it occurs to me the gb probably dont have much experience when it comes (!

  ) to marital sex guidance, so i think its only fair and reasonable we should put together a few hints to help them publish a suitable guide.. it is well known a lot of jw's get married in order to have sex, and all to frequently the marriages fail, possibly due to sexual problems, so the watchtower guide to sex should prove to be very worthwhile.. any jw courting couple intending to get married should be allowed to have a copy of the guide, and should only be available by a special order through the body of elders.. copies are not available to any single bros and sisters.. all and any advice in it must adhere to bible principles, and certainly no salty language or smut will be allowed.. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

  so--to get this started--and in no particular order--here is my first suggestion:.

  KHT is an arm of IBSA and WBTTS or whatever all of which are arms of WT USA.

  If you think of WT and its' entities as "the State, we have socialism or communism in action. Everything run by and for the benefit of the state. The whole thing is Orwellian, all for the greater good, but for the benefit of whom? I think we know the answer to that.

  Perhaps they will try to do the same thing with our homes and other assets. This gradual theft has been in progress for years ever since the KHs were take into public sorry WT ownership. They are not having any more of my money.

  danielle, one of jehovah’s witnesses in south africa, found a bag that a customer had left behind in a coffee shop.

  inside the bag was a wallet with money and credit cards.. when the owner met her to get it back,.

  It happened to me this week. I lost my wallet, stuffed with cash on public transport. In it were my cards, memberships, drivers licence, in short, my whole life.

  The next morning I had it returned intact. There was no fuss, no evidence of super-human religious intervention, just a decent person being responsible. This is by no means the first time, I am notoriously casual with my possessions.

  The lesson? There are loads of decent people about, there also some scumbags but JWs are by no means unique.

  Outcast Doctrines

  in a recent post about the watchtower’s claim that all animals were created as vegetarians, one commenter said that watchtower could no longer sustain this belief so they simply stopped talking about it.

  i began thinking about other wacky doctrines and statements by the borg that have faded away.

  i’ll offer two of them below, but the complete list must be longer than your arm.. 7000 year-long creative days: watchtower once taught that each of the creative days was 7,000 years in duration, hence the hype leading up to 1975. they believed that year marked 6,000 years since adam’s creation, and oh how nicely the 1,000-year reign would fit as the last piece of the puzzle, thus completing the final “day”.

  Watchtower once taught that each of the creative days was 7,000 years in duration, hence the hype leading up to 1975.

  WT still have a massive problem with this. If you follow bible chronology the human creation story counts back to 4000 yrs BC give or take. That's where the 7000 years theory and the 1975 embarrassment came from. WT cannot just "new light" this fact away. The pages of the bible mean that they can't countenance or admit any other explanation. Jesus quoted the creation story as fact.

  So, they have no choice but to take a stand with closed eyes, hands over ears singing "la la la, I can't hear you" whilst ignoring mountains of hard evidence of the real age of man.

  They are stuck with an unsustainable belief that can't be changed. If they did, the whole edifice crumbles and falls.

  Terry. you've sold it to me. I will be going.

  I agree with your comments about CGI. I think if a nuclear explosion occurred within sight now it would be dismissed as unrealistic. We have been so inured by big bangs, splattering blood and the like that excellent non-computerised film making has been devalued. CGI has it's place but your observation is so true, the key is restraint.

  It can be compared to public speaking. Many feel that the key to emphasis is to speak faster and louder until blood vessels are popping. Give me the contrast of the quiet pause followed by an almost whispered truth. Power is in restraint.
